I Just Finished Reading Your Book..." A God Story"

Hi Lynn,

I jus
t finished reading your book "A God Story" and loved it! I can hear you talking all the way through it. You are so disciplined to have written things down and aren't you glad as you try to remember everything. I wish I had done more of that over the years.

God is so wonderful to give us memories but mine fade too often.

Thank you for sharing your life, it is an inspiration to us all.

Listening for the trumpet,
Linda

We Accept The Good And The Sad

Dear partners in the Faith and the Fight,

Once again the phone has been out of order for days... but perhaps this time it was to allow me a few days to pray prior to sending this email.

I wrote a few weeks ago, that our new sister in the Faith, Franceline, died as a result of her injuries and loss of blood. This past Sunday, her mother-in-law came to church and at the invitation time came forward and gave her life to follow our Christ! In her hands to she had her grand-son, Franceline's baby boy. I saw he was very, very malnourished. We spent Sunday afternoon arranging everything for grandma and baby to enter the malnutrition center Monday morning. Late Sunday night we received word that the baby died! Oh! How I have wept! My face is still swollen from my tears!

Sunday afternoon we also received word of a person drowning, he tried to cross a normally dry river bed, now flowing because of the rains! We also heard that another person with him was bitten by a snake!

We returned home after church on Sunday to find a hatchet, huge hammer and spike left at the door of Patrice's office where the thief tried breaking in the door and when that did not work smashing the cement around the window frame! Apparently, we got home earlier than usual and surprised him/them and they hopped over the back wall! The office not only has the safe, 2 computers, radio, copy machine, etc!!! I guess what saddens me the most is the fact with all the noise they had to have made in addition to our German Shepherd barking.....our neighbors knew what was going on and the perpetraitor. And they have said absolutlely nothing.

The police went to talk with the two teens that broke into my place and stole nearly 2000 during the summer. In all likelihood it was the same 2 young men! Celine and I had all the kids in the car with us and got home a few moments before Patrice who had gone to church early on the moto.

Wow..no way around it..... Sunday was not a real good day in an earthly sense.

However.....a woman got saved! A baby went to heaven! A baby was born! And people walking home after following ancient burial practices were reminded..albeit in a tragic way....that none of us are guaranteed the next step. The Lord saw the 'bad guys' and He will take care of the details.

So in our Father's way...Sunday was a victory!
May He help me to see through HIS eyes!
Please pray for us in these days.

Interested In What A "Typical" Day In Burkina Faso Is Like?

Wow! For those interested in our "typical" day...
Sunday 3 AM,Oct 25, Rev Bill Mitchell, Global Impact Missions Pastor at FBC Orlando arrives in Ouagadougou. We drove straight to our Ministry Center church where Bro Bill brought the message to a packed church of about 300-350 people!
Sunday evening Pastor Bob Stewart, founder of Commission Ministries arrived from 4 weeks of teaching in Ghana to begin a week long Leadership Training Seminar with 76 of our leaders who arrived from all outlying areas Saturday and Sunday.
Monday, Oct 26 Pastor Bob taught and I translated as Patrice and Bro Bill toured half of our churches then picked us up at 5PM.
Tuesday, Oct 27 was pretty much a repeat of the prior day, with our finishing up about 4PM.
Wednesday, Oct 28 Rev Bill Mitchell taught our morning session so our leaders could hear a bit of his heart and passion. We left straight form the Ministry Center from Ouagadougou where he flew out that evening. Pastor Womde from the seminary in Ghana taught the afternoon session and David translated for him.
Wednesday, Oct 28 when we arrived in Ouagadougou, we met Rev Larry McFadden from McFadden Ministries.
Thursday, Oct 29 Bro Bill flew to Rome at 4AM while Rev Larry and I drove to Diebougou at 5AM and continued to the Training Center where he taught all the daily sessions!
Friday, Oct 30 Bro Larry and Bro Bob shared the sessions for the day. We had an evangelistic preaching service Friday evening and had nearly 300-350 once again in the service. Many, many for the first time!
Saturday, Oct 31 we left early for Ouagadougou where Pastors Bobby and Larry continued to Ghana to teach for the week!
Tuesday through Friday from 4-6 our leaders (in 11 groups) went hut to hut to pray for the inhabitants, to witness and to invite them to the Friday evening service. They then rested and ate and began showing the films Jesus and The Solution each evening.
Sunday, Nov 1: 14 PEOPLE REPENTED AND GAVE THEIR LIVES TO CHRIST IN THE MORNING SERVICE AT THE FORMATION CENTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ( I just received the phone call!!!!!!!)

Urgent Prayer Request

Beloved,
In early July we hosted a med team at our ministry center. Each morning we began with a praise and worship service presenting Jesus to many people for the first time. We never know who the Lord touches or what the future will hold. A woman came to one of the services with her 18 month old. She never came again.
About a week ago we heard of a woman in the local hospital. Her husband's girlfriend had pushed her into a vat of boiling beer and held her down in order to kill her! All the people in the bar ran away so they would not have to be a witness!!!! The skin on her entire body was burned!
Miraculously, the wife did not die! She has been in the local hospital approx 3 weeks. The day I heard of the situation I spoke with the deacons and pastor at our ministry center and said we had to do something. We needed to be a witness for Christ.
The following day Patrice and I went to the hospital and spoke with the nurse and doctor. We spoke with the mother in law. We entered the hospital room and prayed for the woman who was sleeping.
Celine and I prayed last night that the Lord would bring the woman to a point of being able to understand the gospel and to give us words that would be comforting and yet compelling for her.
This AM Patrice went to the hospital to see what meds were needed for her and to get an update. The woman was awake and he was able to speak with her and pray for her.
He advised the Lord had saved her physical life to give her an opportunity to hear His Word. She told him she had visited our church during the med team. She said she had enjoyed the music but once leaving forgot everything. A few nights ago, 3AM she awoke and was humming the song....over and over and over..... the song says the satan is calling and God is calling....you must choose who you will follow!!!!
Please please pray...Celine and I are going to the hospital in about an hour to share the gospel with her.
Please pray for us and her.
I regret I do not know her name.....but our Glorious Lord does!!!!!
Thank you!!!!!!!

Urgent Prayer

Beloved and coveted partners with Shattering Darkness Ministries,

Many (All) of you realize what an incredible role my home church, FBC Orlando plays with the on-going ministry of Shattering Darkness.

We continue to praise our Lord for the miracle truck, for the prayers and for the teams that have come.

In recent days the desire of Bill Mitchell, Global Missions Pastor at First Orlando, visiting here and 3 other locations became a strong possibility. As of a few minutes ago it seems travel arrangements for the other 3 countries fell into place with Burkina Faso presenting the only problem. (The airline requires a 6 night stay or a price of 2500!!!!!! If Brother Bill spends 6 nights in Burkina, the other visits will not be possible.)

Please pray that our Gracious Lord will open doors, bring clarity, etc. Bro. Bill has held the ropes, advocated for SD, sought ministry partners, given counsel, etc etc ....but has never been able to be here and see first hand just a bit of what our Glorious Lord is doing.

These plans need to be finalized quickly. So please fervently pray...and we shall wait.

Thank you...
Thank you

By the way..WEBSITE IS ONCE AGAIN IN OPERATION!!

HACKERS STRUCK OUR WEBSITE!!!!!!!!!!!!

Much love

Never forget that we do what we do BECAUSE:

Isaiah 9:1-2

Dear Cheryl and Impact Team Memebers

Thank you, thank you, thank you...no words can express our thanks for the eternal impact you made on the village of Kamkani and surrounding areas! You cleaned and dressed wounds, did malaria tests, treated the sick, dispensed meds, held children, played soccer with them, prayed with our folks, helped shatter darkness and liberate people from their idols and fetiches. You were submissive and respectful to all of our leaders. You were attentive at all services and danced like one of us!! Thank you for worshiping our Savior, Lord and King with us! Pastor Ben..thank you for all the efort in message prep. Thank you for leading us in the dedication of the worship building.

Some of you approached me and asked me to send what I spoke about sacrifice.

" When we are tempted to refer to our service of our King as sacrifice or suffering, we need to pause. We need to take a good, long look at the Cross of Calvary. It is there and only there that we look upon and thus experience suffering ans Sacrifice. From the moment you or I encounter the Christ of Calvary; each step we take forward is to be counted as PRIVILEGE!"

Hot? Wet? Wind tossed? Hungry? Tired? Frustrated? Thirsty? For the service of our King?????

Privilege my Beloved. Count it all privilege.

Thank you for your service, smiles, hugs, "nuggets" going with the flow..

Please continue to pray so that you guard only those things which are pure and holy and edifying in your memory bank. Do not let the thoughts of irritations and pressures and multitudes and unplanned occurrences rob you of the joy of our Lord and His good pleasure of your service in His Name.

I will keep you informed of services and attendance at the new church in Kamkani.

Love in Christ as I remain Hidden in Him,
Lynn ( " Wafati")

Navielgan, Kpakpara and Kamkaniba Mission Update

The last month has been a whirlwind with a total of 38 folks from the US. A team of 14 stayed here at my place and ministered in the villages of Navielgan and Kpakpara. They are the 2 closest villages to us but it had been many years with no med team, so it was good. More than 1000 were treated The VBS team presented the gospel to more than 300 children. I estimate somewhere between 10-30 made first time professions of faith.

A team of 24 camped out in the village of Kamkaniba. We slept on cots in the former church building ans some of us ( me included) slept in tents. This team encountered incredible attacks the entire week...no let up at all! This includes one of the women in the church being bitten by a bat and us searching for the vaccine and RIG (Rabies immuno globulin) for 2 solid days traveling from KAmkani to Diebougou to Gaoua and finally Ouaga! We had a man speak a curse as he walked around the church building, much opposition and distraction at the morning evangelistic meetings, a cell phone taken, lots and lots of sickness with team members.....unbelievable storms and the final morning winds so strong our tents were lifted out of the ground as it was pouring down rain!

I asked Patrice if in his memory he could remember another team under such attack as this one and neither of us can recall another!

Thank you for praying. Many were treated and many were saved. Ans many are already talking of returning.!

Please be praying for Holly Dotson, she was bitten by a bat. Please pray for Amanda and Jim, they both had the bat land on them. All are in process of following the rabies vaccinations.

The meeting concerning the wind turbine with Jim Dotson went extremely well and we received official permission to proceed while Jim was here. SO he traveled stateside with a copy of official government approval in hand!

Mado had her baby with no complications!
Celine is ready for her delivery!
Maturin's wife had her baby, no complications.

The joint team of 14 took an offering to send one of our children to the children's hospital in Ouaga fro a consult to see what can be done for his ear/eye.

John Mark and Sandrive are doing well and in the process of building a larger home.

The dedictaion of the new church in Kamkani was celebrated our last evening there and culminated by our celebrating the Lord's Supper together!

Please be praying for the next 3 teams: 2 in October: leadership formation; construction and evangelism; November with Jim Dotson for further work on the wind turbine.

Please pray for our health, I currently have laryngitis and bronchitis, Patrice has a bad cold as well. We spent a lot of time wet and cold in Kamkani, along with all the other team members. My ole body just does not withstand things like before. ( Nope...I ain't gonna tell my age!) I am in my 13th year here...and some things are taking its toll! But our Lord is my Strength and Healer and Hope!

All is well.
Thank you for praying.

We head to Ouaga next week. Patrice will be working on leader training in Sept. I will be working on radio programs and new book " A FIERY PASSION"

Much love in Christ as I remain Hidden in Him,
Lynn

Preparations For The Team

We are busy making last minute preparations for the team!

After much running around, phone calls, meetings, we finally know the "who" that has authority to give us the authorisation for the wind turbine. Patrice is at their office as I type this. We had a very long and very productive meeting with the government official who has authority over all community activities in this region.

Apparently the Burkina Faso government is VERY interested in the natural production of electricity which does not depend on gasoline or water! Jim, when you are here, you will accompany me, Cheryl, Amanda and possibly Patrice on Aug 5 to look at our ministry property. You will also accompany us to the village of Balembar to see the property we just were given which sits atop a "colline" our definition of a small mountain or tall hill!

If you are able to return in November we will be able to spend more concerted time in the capital to visit warehouses and see materials, prices, etc.

THE WEBSITE IS MARVELOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
