Beloved,
Following
the format of 'Power of the One', I want to share the story of Miss
Larue. I met her many years ago while attending seminary and working
with a pregnancy crisis center and Sagamore Baptist Church in Ft. Worth
Texas.
Precious
Larue was timid about addressing young women in crisis, yet she
fulfilled a quiet role that was invaluable for me and the Lord. Each day
after closing, Miss Larue came to clean, wash, vacuum, and dust in
order to keep the center fresh, inviting and Christ-honoring. She
prayed for me to step out with courage on what God had called me to do
and I was blessed to know her fervor for our Lord and her desire to
serve Him in His tasks for her.
My
dear friend and prayer warrior went to be with her Lord on May 23,
2012. She was preceded in death by her husband Frank W. Job and her
daughter Frankie Bass. She is survived by her daughters Barbara Corday
and Cindy Neathery, sister Jimmye Winter, 8 grandchildren, 14 great
grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson.

Miss
Larue's daughter Cindy, said if she had to describe her mother with
only one word, it would be 'devotion' as defined by Webster's 1828
Dictionary .... "the state of being dedicated, consecrated, or solemnly
set apart for a particular purpose; a yielding of the heart particularly
in prayer, performance of religious duties, prayer to the Supreme
Being, ardent love or affection."
Larue
Job was devoted to her Lord, to the Word, to several ministries and
missionaries and to her family and friends but most especially to
prayer. She kept prayer journals of requests and answers to prayer. She
had prayer folders containing ministries, missionaries and family and
friend's names. She kept copies of the Shattering Darkness newsletter in
a prayer folder, marking it all over to indicate prayer needs. When she
could no longer get out of bed she brought the folders to bed with her
so she could constantly pray. One of the Shattering Darkness board
members, Nancy Kort, attended Larue's funeral celebration and spoke
with Cindy about how we treasured her mother's intercession for this
ministry. When Nancy asked, "Who will pray for us now?"... Cindy
answered, "I will". She has those folders and now receives this
newsletter by email. Cindy said that the Lord had made it clear to her
that when her mother went to heaven, she was to pick up where her mother
left off. We covet her prayers for God's hand on Shattering Darkness
and we ask for your prayers also!
Cindy
shared that it was Larue's wish that some of the proceeds from the sale
of her home be given to Shattering Darkness Ministries to be used to
build a church in one of our villages. Cindy and her daughters desire to
visit that church when it is dedicated in fulfillment of Larue's
prayers and dream.
The
Power of the One. Our Jesus, making such a difference in the life of
Mrs. Larue Job. This devoted woman made such a difference for the
kingdom of God. Can you say the same?
